Possible Causes & Solutions
Power Supply
230v VAC
Fuse
5 Amps (Amazon STP4.0B / STN4.0B require 10 Amp)
Motor Thermal Cutout
Motor thermal cut out will reset within 1 to 2 hours
Dry running protection activated (Universal Only)
Switch electrical supply off for 10 secs to reset
Inadequate water supply
1) Full bore isolation valves turned to open position
2) Ensure static head requirements are met for pump
- Amazon – 1m min
- Amazon universal – 1m min
- Niagara – 2m min
- Danube – 2m min
- Danube Universal – 2m min
- Nile – 1m min
Blocked filters
Clean filters, for location see below

Outlets vertical
For activation, outlet hose pipes must point straight up
Flow rate from head
Test flow rate with a weir gauge, flow cup or household measuring jug - 1 l.p.m.
Negative Head situation present

Outlet clear
Check shower head for scale build up and debris
Shower hose twisted
Remove head and hose and test
Negative head

Outlet is open
Close all outlets attached to pump
Water leak on system
Check system for leaks, e.g. dripping taps, leaking pipes and joints, etc.
Air trapped in system
Complete air test
- Turn off Pump
- Remove shower head from hose
- Let hose hang into bath or shower tray
- Turn the temperature to full cold
- Turn the shower on and run for 5 minutes
- Turn the temperature to full hot and run for a further 5 minutes
- Turn off the shower
- Wait at least 20 minutes
- Re-power the pump and turn on the shower to test
Float stuck

Air in system
Complete air test
- Turn off Pump
- Remove shower head from hose
- Let hose hang into bath or shower tray
- Turn the temperature to full cold
- Turn the shower on and run for 5 minutes
- Turn the temperature to full hot and run for a further 5 minutes
- Turn off the shower
- Wait at least 20 minutes
- Re-power the pump and turn on the shower to test
Flange not used

Water movement in system
Fit non-return valve as per diagram

Non-return valve MUST NOT be fitted on inlet ports
Vibration through mounts
Mount on a concrete slab cut to size
Air in system
Complete air test
- Turn off Pump
- Remove shower head from hose
- Let hose hang into bath or shower tray
- Turn the temperature to full cold
- Turn the shower on and run for 5 minutes
- Turn the temperature to full hot and run for a further 5 minutes
- Turn off the shower
- Wait at least 20 minutes
- Re-power the pump and turn on the shower to test
Water temperature too high
Set to less than 60C at hot water cylinder

Debris inside impeller housing
Back flush pump with water
Air in system
Complete air test
- Turn off Pump
- Remove shower head from hose
- Let hose hang into bath or shower tray
- Turn the temperature to full cold
- Turn the shower on and run for 5 minutes
- Turn the temperature to full hot and run for a further 5 minutes
- Turn off the shower
- Wait at least 20 minutes
- Re-power the pump and turn on the shower to test
>Water temperature too high
Set to less than 60C at hot water cylinder

Pushfit Hose connection loose

If using plastic pipe ensure insert sleeves are used.
Thread hose connection loose
1) Check washers are in position and thread connections are secure (do not over tighten)
2) Do not use thread tape
Pipe tail damaged
Make sure is circular / sleeves installed
